The big question is do they work? Most do lead to fast – sometimes dramatic – weight loss, but only for the pounds to creep back on again at the end of the diet.

This week is LGBT Adoption and Fostering Week across the UK. In Rotherham we are looking for more adopters and foster carers from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.

I wrote yesterday about how the government are considering plans put forward by the Department of Work and Pensions, to push people with mental health problems, terminal illnesses, stroke and accident victims back into work.
